Leadership
Training with a Difference
I provide training and education on a variety of topics, custom-designed
to fit your situation. What sets Watershed Coaching’s training
approaches apart is an integrated approach that not only provides valuable
information, but conveys the information in a way that is much more likely
to produce lasting results.
The following is a list of some of the most common training topics requested:
- Leadership styles
- Effective communication
- Performance management
- Team development
- Conflict resolution
- Employee motivation
- Intercultural communication
- Dealing with difficult people
- Stress and time management
- Conducting productive meetings
- Goal-setting
I also facilitate trainings and conduct individual assessments using
the following tools:
- 360 degree feedback – for
constructive assessments of an individual by subordinates, peers, and
supervisors. 360-degree Feedback can provide a manager or leader with
their first true understanding of how others perceive them within the
organization. Feedback is presented anonymously and within a careful,
positive framework. This can uncover unrecognized issues and blind
spots that undermine morale and productivity.
- Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) testing
– a well-established model for analyzing personality types and
traits. This analysis can be useful in promoting self-awareness
to foster an individual’s professional development.
- Enneagram – a dynamic
model of nine distinct yet interconnected psychological types, typically
called 'personality types'. The Enneagram is a remarkable paradigm for
understanding yourself, your coworkers, and even the "personality"
of your team or organization.
- The Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument
(TKI) – to understand how different conflict-handling
modes, or styles, affect interpersonal and group dynamics, and how to
select the most appropriate style for a given situation.
Training with Individual Coaching
The impact of training is greatest when tied to longer-term coaching.
According to a study by the International Personnel Management Association,
training alone increased productivity by 22.4%, while training in conjunction
with individual coaching increased productivity by 88%. For the most profound
impact and organizational change, I can combine trainings and individual
coaching for key personnel.
